The Rileys: Family Shoot

For this shoot, we met at a park and chose the most open space available! This open field the absolute perfect location for The Riley family! While it was super hot, it was also amazing in that this particular park was family friendly, and very family oriented. There were kids running around, cookouts were going on, and people were playing volleyball etc. The Riley family were so sweet, and open to allowing me to execute my vision for their pictures! Camden, their son was so patient in the heat of the day! He was all smiles! This little boy definitely has his parent’s spirit and personality.

I was super excited about the gallery that I delivered to this family!!!!

The Weaver Family: Anniversary/Family Shoot

The Weaver family absolutely blew my mind away! From their fashion, beauty, and smiles, to the love that bleeds from their pores! The sisters in this family have their own personalities and style! I enjoyed spending time with this family and getting to know them! All shoots are fun, but when I am able to make real life connections with families is when the magic truly happens! I am grateful that Mom reached out to me to capture her family’s joy and happiness.

Hanging with the Gwinn's : Family Shoot

The Gwinn Family was a joy to shoot! In the past, I did their maternity and newborn shoots! It’s been really nice watching this beautiful family grow! Martha is one of the sweetness Moms I have ever met! While she is kind and calm, her husband Kevin brought tough, Daddy love to the shoot! Kevin is nice too, but he does not play about his family! I love that the Gwinn’s invited their parents to this shoot! Ana and baby Benjamin so love their grandparents! I enjoyed watching this family interact with each other. While there were plenty of people at this park, it was so easy to focus on the positive energy that The Gwinn’s brought to this shoot!

Magic with McCoy's: Family Shoot

The McCoy Family defines life, love, and laughter! This shoot pushed my creativity! The McCoys are large and diverse group of people! This family reminded me of a quilt; while each patch is different, it still uniquely adds its own style and individuality to the wholeness of the quilt. Each child brought their own sauce and personality to the shoot! Jeremiah was laid back, Kieren was all smiles, and Daniel brought a quiet goofy vibe. Mom and Dad were the calmest people of the bunch, yet they were the threads that held everyone together! I loved shooting the McCoys at this lovely park! There was green everywhere, smiles everywhere, and family fun, EVERYWHERE!

Zola's Turning 1!: Birthday Shoot

Children are by far my favorite people to shoot! They are truly their own person, even at age 1! Little Zola kept me on toes the entire shoot! Keturah and Rudy laughed at their daughter almost the entire shoot! She was literally a ball of fun for a whole hour! The Sanders family are all about having fun, being real, and simply being true to themselves. Mom was professional and very fashionable, and her husband was all smiles during the shoot! Rudy loves his daughter and wife and he seemed to genuinely enjoy the shoot! It nice watching the spark and love between this couple! Love is so magical!

Smiles with the Smith's: Newborn Outdoor Shoot

The Smith Family were full of cuddles! Baby Elisha and Eliana were so sweet to each other! The love that these two share for one another were so obvious and magical. Baby Elisha is crazy about his sister! Eric and Angelia have been friends of mine for years! They are so down to earth! I loved how patient they were with one another! Eric was so helpful and very hands on with calming Eliana who kept running from bugs, and Angelia was the definition of calm throughout the shoot! It’s so exciting to shoot families who are so full of love and life!

Downtown with White's: Family Shoot

There is SO much that can be said about this beautiful family! They were so full of life and laughter! Their little girl Wren has an old spirit! She’s a beautiful little girl with a lot of wit, but she’s also goofy! Amanda and Kyle were big on letting Wren be herself, from running, to jumping and skipping! What was really special about this photoshoot was that the grandparents were invited to join the shoot! Grandparents have way of bringing flavor and sauce to a photoshoot! I really loved this shoot, and I am crazy about little Wren!

A Surprise for Kieren: Birthday Shoot

Kieren’s Mom contacted me with ideas about a surprise birthday shoot for her daughter! I thought this was great idea, considering her daughter is teenager! Teens appreciate photoshoots because the focus is on them, and they also get a chance to post their favorite pictures to their social media pages! Kieren is magical in many ways; she’s brave, confident, and beautiful! But more importantly, she has so much passion and drive, and she rocks to her own beat! Kieren’s personality is truly her own! My favorite part of her shoot was when her mom turned on music, and Kieren’s raised her arms in the air and danced! This is the definition of Black Girl Magic!

Welcome baby Bella: Maternity Shoot

I was so excited about this newborn shoot! Brandy is absolutely beautiful and baby Bella is adorable! I always enjoy shooting kind, and down to earth families! Brandy selected a beautiful golden outfit for her daughter that looked adorable against her skin tone. Brandy’s families brought great energy, and awesome conversation to the shoot. We shot in 80 degree humidity around 6pm. What a great newborn shoot! Welcome to world baby Bella and congrats to Brandy!

Lindsay is a beautiful soul, and she’s so driven!

Bonnie & Clyde: Family Shoot

The C.’s Family shoot was full of laughs and a good time! Dad helped us push through the heat by joking throughout the shoot! The Bonnie and Clyde theme was perfect for this family! The girls were so sweet and silly, and their older brother was so relaxed! Mom was the love and sweetness that held the family together. Though it was undeniably hot and humid, the shoot was pleasurable. I love shooting families that are kind and easy to work with! Having a dad on set that was positive, and full of laughter made the shoot even better!

Black Lives Matter: Family Shoot

The B. Family are such awesome people! They strongly believe in the power of Black Lives Matter and its effect the community and their family. This couple believes in working hard, and creating space to enjoy life! It was an honor to shoot their family pictures downtown on the Black Lives Matter murals. We shot early in the morning around 9am. The mural was empty except for a few construction works. The air was humid, yet I felt empowered and honored to capture their special memories.

Passing the Torch: Graduation Shoot

Congrats to this awesome young man! D., his younger brother, and mom met me downtown on an overcast day, which made for great lighting. This shoot was all about passing torch of success, brotherhood, and striving for excellence, during the time of Black Lives Matter! It was an honor to do D’s Graduation shoot! He graduated from CEEC while his brother, F., will begin CEEC. D. will start this fall at Xavier! He is passing the torch of success, while holding tightly to brotherhood!

Baby K: Newborn Shoot

Babies are so fun to shoot! Their expressions are so worth capturing memories of! This sweet family welcomed Baby K. home and contacted me for a photoshoot. K’s big sister was so excited to do a photoshoot with her brother. It was hot and humid on shooting day, but we all pushed through with patience and fun! The lighting was amazing and I found great shade! I enjoyed shooting close ups of both children, with a focus on details. I am always thankful for the opportunity to shoot young children! They are so precious.

High school graduation is huge step! It marks the end of one road, and points towards a new path! This beautiful young lady graduated from Phillip O. Berry High School, and will start as a freshman at Hampton University this fall. Z’s personality is alive and vibrant! She’s intelligent, gorgeous, and full of spark and drive! Z. arrived to her shoot with her cap and gown, an outfit change, and all smiles ! Her shoot was exciting in that she was came full of ideas, poses, and fun! Congrats to Z. on success!

Twins Shoot: 8th Grade Promotion

Eighth grade promotion is a big deal! It marks the ending of middle school and the start of high school. It says goodbye to ways of the old, with high hopes of embracing the new! I was over the heels excited about this shoot because I am also a twin! I know and understand the love of this relationship! I. and I., are beautiful teenagers with big dreams. I did their families shoot about four years ago, so when mom called for a promotion shoot, I was overjoyed at the opportunity to get to shoot these lovely kids again. Congratulations Twins on perseverance, drive, and hard work.
